Honest porn review of Megasite porn network Karas Adult Playground

For the uninitiated, Kara is just the chick who started this site back in 1997, and would later grow it into one of the largest DVD porn archives on the net. In 2011 as I visit the site, however, its day seems to have come and gone. You wouldn’t realize it if you didn’t look closely, though, because the site really is quite massive, and does have a huge amount of porn to offer.

The largest problem that I see with Kara’s Adult Playground is its price tag: at near fifty dollars a month it is literally twice as expensive as competitor sites like Videobox who have a lot of great porn, too. The question then is does Kara’s site warrant the premium price tag, and in this review the answer is no.

That isn’t to say it isn’t a good site if we put aside the high price and strange billing process (you sing up for a trial that automatically renews at its high monthly rate). If we just want to look at porn, there is a lot to like here. The library holds more than six thousand scenes at the time of my visit from DVDs like Ass Ho’s, Who Wants to be a Fuckin Millionaire, Amateur Hardcore, Gag On This, and Ultimate Gang Bang. They scenes star such models as Katja Kassin, Ana Nova, Naomi Russell, Angelina Valentine, and Melissa West. The porn covers everything from anal to Voyeur, with fetish, lesbian sex, group sex, MILFs, and 18+ teens in between. You can easily spend years enjoying all of the movies and scenes within, there’s no question about it.

Surfing through all of this porn is not terribly easy. There are lists of DVDs, Pornstars, but you can’t really sort things well. You are better off doing a search for a name of keyword, which works well. Media options include good quality Windows Media downloads and Flash streams embedded right into the members area. You also have iPod-ready MP4s to grab. The picture galleries you’ll find here (there aren’t that many compared to the movies) will be high res.

It didn’t look like the content numbers had changed much in the last several months, but nothing is really dated so its hard to tell if it has stopped updating. The live cams it promised lead to another third party site, and so are not included for free. The bonus sites were, however: Asian Pleasures, Major Melons, Tight Anal Sluts, and about a half dozen other general, nonexclusive smut collections.

Karas Adult Playground is a porn site that is just hard to recommend. Five years ago it was great, but in 2011, its fallen behind. If its pricing wasn’t so shady and expensive it would still be worthwhile, but with nearly fifty dollars a month to spend on porn, I could find better sites or even multiple sites to join and so would recommend surfers check out other DVD archives we’ve reviewed, rather than put their money here.
